On this International Women’s Day (IWD) 2025, the Commission embraces the theme “Accelerate Action”, a powerful call to drive progress towards gender equality, advancing girls’ rights, and fostering women’s empowerment.
At the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), we recognize that accelerating action means not just acknowledging the achievements of women but actively working to empower women in leadership, media, and governance.
The Commission remains committed to fostering an inclusive environment where women’s contributions are valued and their potential is fully realized. This commitment is also reflected in the Nigeria Broadcasting Code, which emphasizes the respectful and dignified portrayal of women in the media. The Commission strives to ensure that women are not portrayed unfairly as sex objects or stereotyped, promoting a balanced and equitable representation of women in all aspects of broadcasting.
We proudly celebrate our women on the Board of Management and all the female staff of the National Broadcasting Commission who are breaking barriers and advancing women’s representation at all levels.
