Dr. Suneetha
As we round up the Women’s Month celebration, we want to remind you that the campaign theme for International Women’s Day 2025 is “Accelerate Action”, a powerful call to drive progress towards gender equality, advancing girls’ rights, and fostering women’s empowerment.
Dr. Suneetha serves as a leadership model for many young women in leadership roles across the globe. An eminent physical therapist specialising in children’s ADHD and a fellow in neurological rehabilitation with over two decades of experience delivered a compelling address advocating for gender equity in the digital age. Representing the International Commission of Culture and Diplomatic Relations (ICCDR) and Tripla Difesa Onlus Guardie – Sicurezza Sociale e Ecozoofila.
As a successful leader with a fascinating educational background and wide years of experience in humanitarian work and as a global advocate. She has contributed positively and immensely to the advancement of women in leadership roles
In this discussion to commemorate International Women’s Month and titled “Investing in Women for a Better Tomorrow,” Dr. Suneetha x-rayed the fundamental problems affecting womanhood and underscored the urgent need to combat gender bias in artificial intelligence (AI) and protect women from cyber threats, particularly in developing nations.
Championing Gender Equity through Technology
Dr. Suneetha highlighted how emerging technologies like AI are rapidly reshaping industries, economies, and societies. However, she warned that without proper oversight, these advancements could reinforce existing inequalities.
“AI systems are only as fair as the data they’re trained on,” Dr. Suneetha emphasised. “If those datasets reflect societal biases, the resulting models will inadvertently perpetuate discrimination. It is crucial that we develop AI frameworks that are transparent, ethical, and inclusive to ensure women are empowered, not marginalised.”
In a high-level town hall meeting with ECOSOC representatives and the UN Secretary-General, Dr. Suneetha championed the development of global AI standards to promote gender equity. She called for concerted efforts to ensure AI applications — whether in recruitment, financial systems, or public services — actively prevent discrimination.

Addressing Cyber Threats against Women
Another pressing concern Dr. Suneetha addressed was the rise in cyber threats targeting women, especially in developing regions. Online harassment, data exploitation, and digital abuse disproportionately impact women, creating new barriers to their social and economic participation.
“Women in developing nations face heightened risks online, yet resources for their protection are often scarce,” she noted. “AI can be a powerful tool to combat these challenges — from identifying abusive behaviour in digital spaces to enhancing online safety through smart surveillance systems.”
She urged global stakeholders to invest in AI-driven cyber security measures tailored to protect women from digital exploitation and ensure safer online environments.
Empowering Women in Tech and Emerging Fields
Dr. Suneetha passionately advocated for greater inclusion of women in technology and innovation. She highlighted the need for international communities to promote gender parity in critical fields like artificial intelligence, cyber security, and low-code/no-code platforms.
“Technology is shaping the future of our global economy, and women must have an equitable role in building that future,” she stated. “Encouraging female participation in emerging tech fields is key to ensuring diverse perspectives influence innovation and digital progress.”
She proposed initiatives to expand mentorship programs, educational resources, and partnerships that provide women with greater access to tech careers. Additionally, she praised the potential of low-code/no-code platforms in breaking down technical barriers, empowering women to become innovators and entrepreneurs in the digital space.
Reviving Ancient Wisdom: The Power of ‘Stree Shakti’
During one of the CSW69 parallel events, Dr. Suneetha drew upon the ancient Indian concept of ‘Stree Shakti’, emphasising the inherent strength, resilience, and transformative power possessed by women. She noted that this principle underscores the vital role women play in shaping families, communities, and societies.
“Our efforts should be to unleash her inherent abilities,” she remarked, highlighting that the empowerment of women is not about giving them power but about recognizing the power they already hold.
Acknowledging Key Collaborations
Dr. Suneetha expressed her gratitude to Eluri Srinivasa Rao, Secretary General of the ICCDR, for his invaluable guidance. His mentorship provided crucial insights that informed her advocacy at the conference.
“I am deeply thankful to Secretary General Dr. Eluri Srinivasa Rao for his support,” she remarked. “His dedication to advancing cultural and diplomatic relations has been instrumental in shaping our initiatives across various Sustainable Development Goals — from human rights to gender equity and climate action.”
A Global Call to Action
Concluding her address, Dr. Suneetha issued a powerful call to action, urging governments, tech leaders, and civil society organizations to collaborate in developing inclusive AI policies and strategies.
“AI has the potential to break long-standing barriers for women — but only if we design it consciously and ethically,” she declared. “I call upon global communities to champion AI solutions that uplift women, promote equality, and secure a more inclusive digital future for all.”
Throughout the conference, Dr. Suneetha engaged in high-level discussions with organizations across the globe, including the International Women’s Peace Group, International Network of Liberal Women, Hultsfred Vimmerby Kvinnojouren, World Organization of the Scout Movement, and Pacifica Women’s Council. Her participation at CSW69 stands as a testament to the power of technology in shaping a more equitable world.
Dr. Suneetha also expressed her optimism about women’s growing leadership roles across the globe:
“As said by UN Secretary General, Dr. António Guterres, I firmly believe that a woman’s place is here, there, everywhere, and anywhere she chooses to be. Women and girls must be empowered to pursue their aspirations without barriers — whether in education, healthcare, technology, or even leadership.”
She concluded with a hopeful vision for the future:
“I strongly believe that very soon, we will witness the first female UN Secretary-General.”
By advocating for responsible AI practices, championing women in tech, and reviving ancient wisdom to inspire modern empowerment, Dr. Suneetha Eluri has positioned herself as a global leader driving meaningful change. She closed her address with a poignant reminder:
“Gender equality can be achieved with the sharp weapon of empowerment.”
