International Women’s Day (IWD) is a day for honouring the achievements of women and promoting women’s rights.
The International Women’s Day (IWD) 2026 theme, Give to Gain, calls for a mindset rooted in generosity, collaboration and shared progress.
Give to Gain highlights the power of reciprocity: when individuals, organisations and communities invest in women, opportunities expand, systems strengthen and societies thrive. Giving is not a loss – it is intentional multiplication. When women have access to health and rights, the benefits extend far beyond individuals; families are healthier, health systems are stronger, economies grow and societies become more just and sustainable.
As we celebrate International Women’s Day, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to the women who have been part of my journey in the world.
First and foremost, without my mother, I wouldn’t be here. She gave me life, love, guidance, and the foundation for the man I became. Like so many mothers around the world, she gave far more than she ever asked in return. Thank you so much, Maami!

To my supportive sisters, growing up, I have realised that you are the most precious people in my life, and I wanted you all to know how thankful I am for all the things you say and do. “Thanks for being my rock, sibs! Your unwavering support means everything.
To my first daughter and her mom, I say thank you for being part of my journey to life.
I am also grateful to my wife; without her, I would not have been blessed with my two amazing sons and a daughter—the fantastic kids are the main reason I overlooked the imperfections and negativity.
Throughout my life, I have loved and been inspired by many women—friends, partners, colleagues, teachers, and leaders. Each one has brought wisdom, compassion, strength, and perspective into my journey.
Women are the nurturers of humanity. They are mothers, daughters, sisters, innovators, educators, care-givers, and leaders. They bring balance, empathy, creativity, and resilience to a world that deeply needs those qualities.
When we look honestly at our world and ask, “What would it be without women?” the answer is simple: it wouldn’t exist as we know it. Women are the heartbeat of families, communities, and civilisation itself.
On International Women’s Day 2026, I simply want to say thank you—to the women in my life and to the women everywhere who uplift humanity every day.
Your strength, kindness, and love make the world a better place.
Have a Fantastic International Women’s Day 2026.
