Dr. Shahram. Azimi
There are certain exceptional individuals who, in our view, make significant contributions to the promotion of peace, human security, and global co-operation by uniting countries and peoples to advance human rights goals and the “Global Peace Forum”.
The following is the inspiring story of United Nations Peace Ambassadors Foundation (UN-PAF) Ambassador and High Commissioner for Asia, Dr. Shahram. Azimi shares his leadership roles and how he is being a part of the global movement for peace.
Below are excerpts:
- Can you tell us briefly about yourself, your family and your educational background?
I am Dr Sh. Azimi, a holder of a Ph.D. in International Trade and Banking Law. Born in Azerbaijan and currently 54 years old, I am married and a father of two. My spouse, who holds a Ph.D. in chemistry, serves as an ambassador for Azerbaijan and Central Asia within the United Nations Peace Ambassadors Foundation (UN-PAF) and is a member of the Iraq-America Peace Association (Michigan/Pennsylvania chapter). I, too, serve as an ambassador and high commissioner for Asia within the United Nations Peace Ambassadors Foundation (UN-PAF). My background and roles include:
President of the International Association for Peace and Friendship (I.A.F.A.) for the Central Asia region and Turkey; official member of UDMP; member of the Human Rights Association (DLMOB); official member of the World Federation of Humanity and Peace (WFHP), affiliated with the United Nations; head of diplomatic relations and official member of the Consortium for the Defence of Human Rights at the United Nations (C.I.D.D.H.); member of the International Federation for Human Rights and Peace (IHRPF), serving as head of financial and economic affairs;
Also, I am a member of the United Republic of Sumatra (APEU/SMGE) for Asian countries; president of the Iraq-America-Pennsylvania-Washington Peace Association for the Central Asia region (Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan), as well as Azerbaijan, Armenia, Turkey, Iraq, and Iran; head of financial and economic affairs at the Human Rights Association (Berlin, Germany/Iran/Turkey); representative for global peace and security (human rights – CODHIM); official member of the “International Academy of Poetry” (INTP.APEU); member of the “United Nations Global Community Church” (VING); member of the “United Nations Global Peace Union” (UNDESA); member of the “International Literature and Poetry Club” (LLC); official member of the “United Nations Blue Cross and Blue Crescent Society”; member of the “International Federation for the Defence of Human Rights” (Palestine/Gaza); and official member of the “Global Peace Union” affiliated with UNESCO (UN PESA).

I am committed to serving the cause of global peace, steadfast in promoting human values and diplomacy, and having accepted these noble responsibilities, I am honoured… Committed to serving global peace and steadfast in promoting human values and diplomacy, and embracing these noble responsibilities, I am honoured to take a step toward peace, friendship, solidarity, and unity to strengthen international partnerships and dialogue among nations. By uniting countries and peoples to advance human rights goals and the “Global Peace Forum”, we will continue to build bridges of friendship, serve humanity, and defend human rights worldwide, creating a powerful union free from discrimination and leaving a lasting legacy of hope for future generations.
We are formally and legally committed to fostering this unity, promoting the message of peace, serving humanity, and upholding human rights. These are our global objectives: to address challenges and needs through unity, solidarity, brotherhood, equality, and empathy. Each of you, across the globe, serves as a powerful voice for orphans, unaccompanied children, the elderly, and women in need who require support and the defence of their human rights. We move forward together by joining hands to support the construction of schools and medical centres and by providing medical equipment, medicine, clothing, food, and aid to those in need of financial assistance. Together, we can resolve challenges and make the world a better place—especially for the children worldwide who have been left orphaned and are in desperate need of support and care. We bear a responsibility toward one another and our fellow human beings—a duty that is both civic and humanitarian.
For we must stand in support of children deprived of maternal love and paternal care, women left alone and helpless to raise their children under the most trying circumstances, and the elderly who have lost their physical abilities. These children, orphans, and young people represent the future of this earth. We are here today; while we will all one day depart this world, humanity and a good name endure forever. Let today stand as a symbol of this: let us leave behind a legacy of friendship, solidarity, and wholehearted unity for the world, for future generations, and for our children; let us strive for humanitarian goals by building a world filled with peace, spreading the message of peace, and upholding one another’s rights. I call upon you to join in this unity.
- Leadership is a dynamic process, which deserves study; it is a relational process involving interactions among leaders, members and sometimes outside constituencies. What have been the most challenging and most rewarding aspects of leadership for you?
My primary role is that of Executive Director for the African continent, where I oversee a network of approximately 600 official members across various African nations. In this capacity, I engage with a wide range of stakeholders—including Interpol, the Nigerian Police, authorities in Nigeria and other African countries, human rights and peace officials, the African High Commissioner, and various non-governmental organisations (NGOs). Together, we work to build bridges of friendship and foster human connections, with the specific aim of supporting and addressing the needs of unaccompanied children, vulnerable women, and the elderly.
- You are the Ambassador and High Commissioner for Asia at the “United Nations Peace and Friendship Foundation” (UN-PAF). How have you been able to impact the people, especially children, women and youths?
My goal, my efforts, and my commitment to humanity—as well as my sense of responsibility—are directed toward fostering peace, friendship, solidarity, and unity, with the aim of strengthening international cooperation and dialogue among nations. By bringing together countries and peoples to advance the cause of human rights and the objectives of the “Global Peace Forum”, we will continue to build bridges of friendship, serve humanity, and defend human rights worldwide. Our aim is to forge a powerful union—free from discrimination—and leave behind an enduring legacy of hope for future generations. We are formally and legally committed to strengthening this union, promoting a message of peace, serving humanity, and safeguarding human rights. Our global objectives include addressing challenges and needs through unity, solidarity, brotherhood, equality, and empathy. Each of you, wherever you may be in the world, serves as a powerful voice for orphans, unaccompanied children, the elderly, and women in need—individuals who require support and the defence of their human rights. By joining forces, we take concrete steps toward building schools and medical centres, providing medical equipment, medicine, clothing, and food, and offering financial assistance to those in need. Together, we can overcome challenges and make the world a better place—especially for children across the globe who have been orphaned and are in desperate need of support and care. We bear a responsibility toward one another and toward our fellow human beings—a duty that is both civic and humanitarian in nature. For we must support children deprived of maternal love and paternal care, women raising their children alone and unsupported under the most difficult circumstances, and the elderly who have lost their physical capabilities. These children, orphans, and young people constitute the future of this planet.

We are here today, and although we shall all one day depart from this world, humanity and a good reputation endure forever. Let us make today a symbol of this commitment: let us leave behind a legacy of friendship, solidarity, and sincere unity for the world, for future generations, and for our own children. Let us strive to realise humanitarian goals by building a world filled with peace, spreading the message of peace, and upholding one another’s rights. I invite you to join this union. Your presence is a source of great honour and pride. This unity and solidarity—rooted in equality and brotherhood—represent bridges of friendship…
- As a prominent diplomat who had held several positions and achieved a significant milestone on the international stage, can you share with us your success stories and projects?
Over the years, I have undertaken numerous projects and initiatives. One such project, focused on Nigeria and the African continent, was carried out in collaboration with a major care facility for orphaned and unaccompanied children—a centre dedicated to the upbringing, care, and education of approximately 2,500 children. Working alongside a church pastor and a prominent Nigerian bank, I facilitated the transfer of 500 million Euros—sourced from banks in Switzerland and the United Kingdom—to Nigeria. These funds were designated for the expansion of the educational centre, the construction of a hospital, the procurement of advanced educational materials, the provision of medicines, vaccines, clothing, and communication equipment, as well as the development of sports and training facilities. All relevant documentation for this project is available. Furthermore, a peace and friendship pact was established between Nigeria and Turkey; representatives from Nigeria now work alongside their counterparts within the “Ambassadors of Peace Foundation” in Istanbul, focusing on human rights. Additionally, I have procured 100 fully automated, labour-free bread-baking units. These compact machines—which connect to municipal water and utility networks—can produce 10,000 loaves of bread every eight hours, tailored to the specific preferences of any given region. I have allocated 60 of these 100 units to Africa.
- You are representing UN-PFA, what are the vision and mission of this great organization?
Vision and Goal: A commitment to our work, to humanity and our fellow human beings, to building a better future for the youth, and to guiding children without guardians toward a bright future. We are here today; they are the future. Whatever we invest in our children—in their future—applies to these children as well; they are, in effect, our own children, and we bear a responsibility toward them. Furthermore, we align with the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda, which aims to eradicate poverty.
- Dotolive News Magazine (DNM) would like to promote and reporting your activities. How would you support the media organization?
I will support the DNM newspaper on an international level. I invite you to join us and become our voice—serving as a bridge for Africa, including Nigeria, Cameroon, and other African nations. Be our messenger and our cry to those who do not hear us, so that they may know: I stand by your side to offer my support.
- Amazing memories are unforgettable; can you share with us the most amazing memory?
As for a “wonderful memory”—I don’t personally have one of my own. Rather, I find the act of creating wonderful memories for others to be what matters: for children, for women without guardians, for patients in need, and for the elderly who require support, medication, and care. Whenever I am able to bring tears of joy to someone’s eyes, that—to me—is a truly wonderful memory. In 2025, we procured and distributed complete sets of school supplies for 4,000 boys and girls under the age of 12. The joy of those children—that was the memory.
- What advice would you give the younger ones?
We offer no specific advice to young people, as they have not yet reached an age where they can fully grasp the responsibilities associated with societal challenges, anthropological issues, the complexities of poverty, or the future. Instead, we must support them—through guidance, education, upbringing, mentorship, counsel, and both personal and financial backing—until they attain full maturity and awareness. I can only urge them to continue their education, regardless of whether circumstances are difficult or favorable, and to ensure they do not become involved in crime, violence, or drug use. By earning the highest academic qualifications, they can become role models for other young people.
Thank you for sharing with Dotolive News Magazine. DNM 2026
