Nigerian Gift Ayola, 19, jailed in UK for recording pedophiles' sexual abuse.
A 19-year-old Nigerian, Gift Ayoola, has been sentenced to four years in prison in the United Kingdom for sexually exploiting children online, recording the abuse and selling the material to paedophiles.
Ayoola, who moved to the UK from Nigeria after losing his mother at the age of six, was reportedly paid £5,000 by one of the offenders. Police also discovered hundreds of indecent images of children on his electronic devices.
The Cardiff Crown Court heard on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, that Ayoola contacted a 12-year-old girl online and encouraged her to engage in sexual activity. He also communicated with several other girls between the ages of 11 and 13, as well as a child aged between two and four.
Ayoola was initially arrested in January 2025. During the investigation, police found 455 Category A, 401 Category B and 389 Category C child abuse images on his devices. Investigators also discovered that he belonged to Telegram and WhatsApp groups where such material was shared.
According to the court, Ayoola received requests from paedophiles who wanted to purchase images and videos of children. A total of 877 transactions were reportedly made through PayPal.
He was arrested again on March 5, 2026, after further investigations uncovered additional child abuse material involving children as young as four.
Ayoola pleaded guilty to multiple offences, including making and distributing indecent images of children, possessing extreme pornography, and causing or inciting children to engage in sexual activity.
Sentencing him, Judge Vanessa Francis described the offences as a “grievous form of sexual abuse” and said Ayoola had exploited the trust and vulnerability of children.
In addition to the four-year prison sentence, Ayoola was placed under sex offender notification requirements indefinitely and given a special Harm Prevention Order lasting 10 years.
